It's half time of the LSU game so I thought I would take the time to type up this question and see if anyone has a suggestion!
I've been working on Dragon Knot for quite a while now. I've put a lot of time and effort into it. This was intended to be a gift for a friend of mine, my sailor. Well, sadly, my sailor is no longer my sailor. To keep a long story short, we have had parting of the ways that I doubt will be resolved. So, I am left with this gorgeous piece that I am going to finish but I'm not sure what to do with it after it is done.
Any suggestions?

Finish the stitching, frame it and hang it in your home. It's is much to pretty with so much work to give away. JMO
Been there, done that unfortunately - mine was a sailor too. A year later I found an absolute honey - coming up 4 yrs ago now. As you the piece, if it is to your taste and doesn't evoke bad memories, keep it. If not, I'm sure no one would object to such a gorgeous pressie, even if it wasn't originally for them
Do as the frog says: finish and frame it. Lots of love, time and money went into the piece. Love it for itself.
I agree with the others, if the piece is to your taste then finish it and keep it for yourself.
I say finish it and either keep it or give it to someone else that would enjoy it.
I would also just keep stitching it, frame it and hang it in your home.
You did already so much work on it. Don't stop with it!

If you don't have bad memories on it, keep it.
I want to say keep it. I don't know how you feel personally. This would be a hard decision for me.
I had stitched up a Wedding Blessing for my husband's niece and husband. I had it finished and framed. I never got around to mailing it in time because some months later they divorced. Later on I had asked my husband what I should do with it and he asked me to change the names and date for us. I did and not only that but I added some scrapbook items to it and now it is officially for us.
This is just an idea. You could change it some or add something to make it yours if you choose.
I am sorry that you are no longer together. Keep us posted on what you decide. (((HUGS))).
I am with the others. Finish it, frame it and enjoy it. If it feels like it has too many bad memories, 'cleanse' it before you hang it. Wanda in Edmonton
Eventhough I am a bit late answering your question, I say finish it and frame it and as others have suggested, if it is not your taste just pass it on to someone who would like it!
