Summer Day

Today was just one of those good summer days! I woke up this morning and headed to the pool for an hour of solitude. I sat on the side of the pool with my legs and feet in the cool water as I read my book for about an hour. I tend to go to the pool in the mornings to avoid the little kids and the college kids.

Then I picked up a friend of mine and we had lunch then ventured off to our local zoo. I hadn't been in years and she had never been. It was nice to wander around for a few hours and look at the animals. We got to see a giraffe very up close! His tongue looked like a giant slug!!! We enjoyed strawberry sno-cones which I must confess I ended up with all over my white t-shirt. I just seemed to have a problem finding my mouth! But that's ok, I enjoyed every minute of it and my friend? Well, she laughed at me and then in the next minute spilled her sno-cone on herself too! LOL!!!!

Since we were in a part of town that we RARELY ever go to, we decided to make the most out of it and visit the Dairy Queen out there. From where we live, the Dairy Queen is about 20 to 30 minutes away. So we both went and indulged in some ice cream goodness!

It was just an overall great day! Left a smile on my face!

I rarely get to that side of town either....even though I work off Greenwell Springs, but they had a commercial for that brownie batter blizzard and I was thinking that might be worth the trip to Dairy Queen!
