I've had this quilt for two years. Last week, I finally dragged it out to start it. It's for my good friend Sarah's oldest daughter who will be 2 next month. The newest baby, born in October, will just have to wait 2 years for hers! LOL! I don't typically do stamped cross stitch as I see absolutely no challenge to do it, but it's Eeyore!
I finished the backstitching on Poppy today and started the beading. This is my first time beading and I have to stay I find it very tedious and slow. So after probably only 10 beads, I had to put it down. I am just not in the mood to bead! I think you have to be in an incredibly good, happy, patient mood to bead! And the invisible thread! It really is invisible! You can't see the darn thread! I thought I would be able to finish this one quickly, but I think it is going to be a challenge!

I so agree with you on the need to be in the mood for beading. I have Celtic Autumn as a WIP and havent been able to touch it since Sept. Well, ok - to be fair not just because of the beading but cause there was a HUGE frog that lept in and I need to extract it before I can move on (the letter M has to be completely removed - beads and all).
If you find it tedious and slow, you might want to check if you have the correct needle for it. I find beading easy with needels size 28 and for Mill Hill petites I have VERY fine needles.
Personally I hate invisible thread, I just can't bead with it. It's a battle. Thats why I use Nymo beading thread. The white one blends in very well with most light colors.
Cute Eeyore - how can you resist him?
:)
Gorgeous quilt. I like the new-look blog too.
Love the quilt. My DD just told me she wants Pooh stuff for the new baby so there will Eeyore stitching being done here too.
I hate the invisible thread too. I usually match floss to the fabric color and use that to bead with.
Eyeor is just so cute.

Don't you just love Eeyore?!! He's a favorite of mine. He looks great! I guess it's better than than never and I think the child will enjoy it more now.
Use the Nymo thread and get a Tacky Bob, or make one yourself. Makes the task much less stressful. Eeyore will be cute!
