Whirlwind Weekend

I have been so busy with work that I haven't had the chance to do a blog update. I do have some stitching progress to show but not much. I will save that for another day!

This weekend my Uncle came in for a visit. He hasn't visited South Louisiana for 10 years. From the moment he stepped off the plane we whisked him away! On Saturday we went to LSU for a tour of the campus. We were so lucky that Mike was out! He was playing in the water. He is such a beautiful cat!

We also headed over to New Orleans that afternoon. Had to visit the voodoo shop and other specialty shops that only New Orleans has!
On Sunday we headed to Nottoway Plantation. Such a beautiful home! Rich in history and stories! It was so much fun to wander the grounds and tour the home. Envision a time that was so different than today.
I now need a weekend to recover from my weekend! Another long week at work. So much to do, so little time! :)

Allow me to introduce......

Holly! Yay! I finally finished her!!! Forgive the bad picture, it is a very cloudy day here! Plus I used my cell phone's camera feature because I was just too lazy to pull out the camera!! LOL! But she is done!

Adventures in Babysitting!

I know I promised a picture of Holly when finished. I am still very close to finishing but didn't have much opportunity to stitch this weekend as I was babysitting 4 kids (3 boys, 1 girl) ages 14, 13, 11, and 9. What an adventure.

While I didn't have to amuse them I did have to play referee. That is what I was this weekend. All I heard was "he did that", "he did this", "she did that", "she did this". And of course, it was all INTENTIONALLY! Heaven forbid should one of them just look at the other! LOL!

There were some good moments. We played Monopoly and went swimming. But I am very happy to be home now in my own apartment in the quiet!

So, my goals for this upcoming week are to finish Holly, pick Dragon Knot back up, start Nora Corbett's Letter M, and continue my evening walks. Oh yeah, go to work too. :P

I'm Still Here!

It's been a while since I posted! Things have been very busy lately! We've had 2 people quit at work and so of course, the work has just been piling up! Luckily though we have a one new person starting on Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed this one lasts!!!!

I've also spent the past two weekends traveling and shopping. I'm becoming a name brand snob!!! LOL! In addition to my recent purchase of a Coach purse, I broke down and bought a pair of designer sunglasses! Juicy Couture. I can't believe I indulged myself that way! Because of all the travel and shopping, I kept my booty home this weekend!!!! And even that didn't stop me from spending money! LOL!

My favorite uncle passed away one week ago. To me, it was sudden, as I don't live in the same state as he does and was not aware how ill he was. I last saw him in May when we had gone home for graduation. He looked good and was in good spirits despite having just been diagnosed with lung cancer. So it was quite the surprise to me when he passed away. I wasn't able to get back for the funeral due to work, but my sister did and she said it was quite the celebration. I'm just glad that he is no longer in pain.

Also coping with the loss of a close friend. No, this friend did not pass away. We've been on the outs for several months now and despite my best efforts, I just don't think the trust/friendship can be salvaged. It is very disappointing because this was a very close friend and distance just seemed to have gotten in the way and our own personal demons. I'm still holding on to hope but it is slowly slipping away despite me digging in with my fingers! And anyone who knows me, knows that I am very stubborn.

On the stitching front, I have been working on Holly. I am so close to being done that I don't want to put up a picture till it is complete. It's so close I can see it finished! LOL! Just the kreinik and beading is left. Both of which I loathe, but I am determined! I also picked up the materials (fabric and specialty threads) for the Nora Corbett Letters from Nora "M". I can't wait to start that. This one is just for me!!!!! :) Sure I have one other loved one with M as an initial but this one is for me!!!! I am going to be selfish for a change. I have so many projects that I have started with the intention of being just for me and I end up giving them away! Not this one!!!!

Things are not all bad despite what I've presented here. I'm doing ok. I like my life. I see things I want to change and am trying to change or improve things. Trying not to stay still. Trying to keep moving forward! I've learned that is best. And yet, I am trying not to bury my head in the sand! I do a really good ostrich impression but I've learned that really doesn't make things better!

So till next time! I hope to have some updates on stitching for you!

Weekend Stitching Update

This weekend I spent some time working on The Kiss by Mirabilia. I didn't spend too much time on it as I spent a lot of time shopping and at the pool this weekend, but it is a really easy stitch! I stitched till I ran out of one of the Kreinik threads! I see a trip to the LNS in my near future!!! :) Ok, so that's just a good excuse to have to go!!!

Great Saturday!

Today my bonus check came through! So off I headed to Gulfport for some outlet shopping! My goal was to get some new work pants and a new purse! I succeeded on the goal. I got some really great deals on pants, shirts, and pajamas! Then I treated myself. I bought myself a brand new Coach purse! I have never, personally, spent that much money on an item for myself! But I enjoyed doing it!!!! :)
The afternoon continued by spending some good bonding time with my friend Celestine. We headed to the local gellato shop and split a sundae. It was so yummy. We forgot to take a picture. It was called the Spaghetti sundae. In a sundae bowl, they took vanilla gellato and put it in a noodle press making it look like spaghetti. It was then topped with a fresh cherry syrup - spaghetti sauce, real cherries (not maraschinos) - meatballs, and coconut flakes - parmesan cheese. It was so yummy! And light and fresh. Perfect for a hot, humid weekend afternoon!
After that we went grocery shopping. Yes, together. LOL! It is such a girl thing to do! We went to a local market that specializes in pre-made foods. It was fun to browse and pick out things for the upcoming week!
Now I am washing all my new clothes and am going to watch a few episodes of the True Blood series season 1 while doing some stitching. So far, this weekend has been great!

Dragon Knot Update

Here's my update on Dragon Knot. I completed another tiny section of the pattern. I'm going to keep plugging away at it!!! :)

Monday Vent

Do you ever have that feeling that you perpetually repeat the same mistakes in life? That you know that they are mistakes and yet you keep repeating them over and over?

I'm a smart woman. I have a good life. I have a good job (most of the time - but isnt' that typical of most jobs?). I pay my bills. I have a little extra that I can put aside and spend on goodies like books and cross stitch supplies. I have good friends. Family who loves me. A great dog! Then why is it that I obsess on the things that I can't have? When I say obsess, I mean, can't get it out of my head, hit your head against the wall numerous times type of obsession. And it is an obsession on something that is not even good for me.

Seems like I am mentally healthy if I can recognize that I have a problem. However, even though I know there's an issue, just don't know how to solve it. I've always solved things on my own. But this time I think that I might need help. It feels like failure though that I require help. I was always taught to be self sufficient.

Oh I feel like demons are raging on inside of me. I wish I could have stayed in Houston! I think I see another trip very soon!

Trip to Houston

This weekend I "ran away" to Houston. I need some rest and relaxation. It was great spending the weekend with my friends!!! It was just what I needed. Too bad I had to come back!!!!

Since I had a half day on Friday, I didn't want to waste it so I decided a road trip was just what I needed! So Duke and I loaded up in the car and headed out to Houston. That first night we went out to dinner at La Parmigiana. Little italian place. It was quite good! Of course, Parker ordered the chicken fingers!!! LOL

On Saturday, we didn't do too much. Or at least nothing was planned. I took off with Marly and we went to 3 Stitches in Spring. I love that store! I did buy a Passion Ricome design that I will post later as it is going to be a gift for someone. Marly also requested that I teach her to cross stitch so that one day she could make pictures as pretty as I do! Awww, my heart melted. So off to Michaels to get her a beginning kit. I do believe she has picked it up fairly quickly. I've instructed her to finish the cross stitch and when I come back I will show her how to do backstitches!

We then spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool! Which was then topped off by a dinner of hot dogs, homemade potato salad, and homemade ice cream!!!!

It was such a great weekend! I didn't want to come back!!! I also got to spend some time with Cassady who is now 3 months, almost 4 months old. With the exception of a few spit ups, she is developing quite a personality that just makes you smile!!!!

Update

Hi ya'll! I haven't been doing very much stitching but I do have a little bit of progress to show on The Kiss and Dragon Knot 2! The Kiss is actually a very easy stitch and the Dragon Knot is slow going!

I'm hoping to get back into stitching. I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse series and finished the latest book this weekend. I LOVE that series! I can't believe that I have to wait a whole year for the next one to come out!

Weekend Update

Oh where does the weekend go? One day it's Friday afternoon, the next thing you know it is Sunday evening!

On Saturday I had a very long lunch with another old friend from high school. She was in town visiting and me and another long lost friend were able to get together. We talked and talked. There was never any of the hesitancy or awkwardness even though it's been almost 15 years since we've all been together. It was nice. We are all determined to make the effort to keep in touch.

Today, Sunday, I wanted to do something but it was SO HOT!!! So as I was driving around town, randomly, trying to figure out what to do, I called one of my friends up hoping that she had some type of plan for the day that would help inspire me. Instead we ended up going to the fresh vegetable/fruit stand, sushi for lunch, and then a very long trip around town trying to find a new gelato place. She thought it was on one end of town and I thought it was on the other end. I was right! LOL! But of course only after we had ridden all over!

Once again, another weekend gone and no progress on cleaning was done!!! However, this upcoming weekend is a long holiday weekend and I have absolutely no plans. Most people I know are going to be out of town. Me, on the other hand, am going to spend it cleaning, stitching, and spending some quality time with my pooch, Duke. Duke is feeling quite neglected these days!

I hope to have a post soon on some updates on the projects I have been stitching on!

National Champions!!!!

I have spent the last 12 days watching the College World Series. I have watched most of the games and ALL of the LSU games. I have spent the last 3 nights on the edge of my seat, watching and waiting for LSU to win their SIXTH championship! Tonight they did that! Winning 11 to 4 against University of Texas! GEAUX TIGERS!

Back from Florida

I am back from my convention in Florida. It went very well, I believe. At least I was praised by most that it was a success. This is the view from my balcony. Isn't it beautiful? On Saturday evening I watched a beach wedding. How sweet!

Next door to the hotel was the Gulfarium. All I can say is that it's no Sea World!!!!

It was VERY hot in Florida. So hot that I only managed an hour on the beach on Friday. And in that short of time, with SPF 30 lotion slathered on, I still managed to get burned!!! Saturday, after going to the Gulfarium, I managed to spend another hour out by the pool but that was between 4 pm and 5 pm. I've never been to the beach when it was so hot you were miserable. There wasn't even a cool ocean breeze!!! But I got some beach time in and it just makes me want more!
Now I'm back home, I've picked Duke back up from the vet, and I am preparing to watch the College World Series! Geaux Tigers!

Corks N Canvas

We have a new place in town that lets you get together with friends, enjoy some wine and paint a picture. Every month they put out a calendar of the paintings that are available and then you just pick the day/painting you want to do.

I went with some friends/co-workers tonight. We had fun and will definitely do it again! The painting we were doing was a fleur-de-lis. This is how mine came out:

The Kiss

This weekend, while watching the College World Series (Geaux Tigers!), I picked up Mirabilia's The Kiss to stitch. I can't even remember the last time I had touched this project. Needless to say, it had been so long, it had collected dust! So I stitched away on it this weekend. It has a TON of kreinik threads which makes it tedious. Also, all the empty spots on the dress, that is where beading will go. There seems to be a LOT of beading. But it is a quick stitch.
Before:
After:
Tonight is another LSU baseball game. We take on Arkansas. I have every confidence that we will win! I'm just not sure what project I will stitch on! I also need to do some packing as I leave this week for a convention in Florida! Yippee!!!

Mid Week Update

Page 5 COMPLETED!!! YAY! Now that only leaves 11 more pages to complete!

Thankfully the week is half way over. Only two more days of work! Right now I am looking forward to the weekend. No big plans, just don't have to go to work!!! LSU does play on Saturday in the CWS. Next week I have a convention in Florida so I am hoping to get out by the pool again so I can get some more sun and plus it's free so I can save money for the trip.
I am so enjoying my new car! I actually like to drive places now! Today as I was leaving work I saw a truck that was using a whisk as an antennae for the radio. Yes, it is true. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!

Summer Day

Today was just one of those good summer days! I woke up this morning and headed to the pool for an hour of solitude. I sat on the side of the pool with my legs and feet in the cool water as I read my book for about an hour. I tend to go to the pool in the mornings to avoid the little kids and the college kids.

Then I picked up a friend of mine and we had lunch then ventured off to our local zoo. I hadn't been in years and she had never been. It was nice to wander around for a few hours and look at the animals. We got to see a giraffe very up close! His tongue looked like a giant slug!!! We enjoyed strawberry sno-cones which I must confess I ended up with all over my white t-shirt. I just seemed to have a problem finding my mouth! But that's ok, I enjoyed every minute of it and my friend? Well, she laughed at me and then in the next minute spilled her sno-cone on herself too! LOL!!!!

Since we were in a part of town that we RARELY ever go to, we decided to make the most out of it and visit the Dairy Queen out there. From where we live, the Dairy Queen is about 20 to 30 minutes away. So we both went and indulged in some ice cream goodness!

It was just an overall great day! Left a smile on my face!

Update on Stitching

Hi ya'll! It is a beautiful summer day here and I just spent a few hours out on my balcony soaking up some sun and reading Demon Mistress. Yep, I finished it! :) But I still have two more books to read!!!

Here are my updates on Dragon Knot 2 and Holly! I stitched mostly on Dragon Knot 2 this week but got in a day of stitching on Holly!
Now off I go to watch game #2 of the LSU-Rice Super Regional. LSU has already game 1 and just needs one more to go to Omaha! Geaux Tigers!

Trip to the Book Store

After work today I headed to the book store to get the 2nd book of the Sookie Stackhouse series, Living Dead in Dallas. I walk in and head to the Romance section which is where I typically buy my paranormal romance novels. I couldn't find ONE Charlaine Harris book. But while looking I found the next book in two series that I do read. So I picked up Demon Mistress by Yasmine Galenorn and Never Been Witched by Annette Blair. I was disappointed I couldn't find the Charlaine Harris book but took a lap around the book store anyway. I finally found the book in Sci Fi! Yep, they had it categorized as Sci Fi. This wasn't a book store that I typically get my books at but oh well, at least I found it! So I came out of the book store with not just one book, but THREE books for some good summer reading by the pool!

Dead Until Dark

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris is the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. These are the same novels that the HBO series True Blood is based on. Now I have only seen the 1st 3 episodes of True Blood and what I saw, well, really didn't impress me. I'm not sure if it was the writing or the actors. But I couldn't get hooked on it. I do have it on my Netflix rotation to see the entire 1st season but that's kind of down the road.

I did pick up the first novel, Dead Until Dark. It is the same storyline as the television series with a few differences. There are some characters in the tv series not in the book and vice versa. I have to say that I really did enjoy the book A LOT more than the tv series. I'm very much looking forward to picking up the second book!

My suggestion, if you didn't like the tv series, try the book.

Stitching Update

This week I've focused mostly on Dragon Knot. The colors are fabulous. If you could see it in person because the pictures do not do it any justice.
The entire project to date:
The section currently being worked on:
I did do a little bit on Holly but not enough to justify an update picture. I'm also itching to kit up Tigerlily and just might do that today if I get the time. This weekend has just flown by!!!!
I spent majority of Saturday dealing with the purchase of my new car! Then I had friends over for the LSU baseball game (we won!) and to watch the movie Twilight! Today is going to be busy too! I currently have a load of MY laundry going right now, then I need to clean up the kitchen from last night's festivities, run errands and then off to my Dad's to clean his house and do his laundry. With my Mom out of town and him working on the house to get the renovations done, his laundry and cleaning has NOT been done. My mother would be mortified!!! LOL! And not to forget that LSU plays again tonight at 6!!!!

Here she is.....

Isn't she just beautiful? 2009 Toyota Corolla LE. I absolutely love it! This is the first car I have bought that is brand new. She only has 34 miles on it!!!!

Although I am sad to give up my Altima. But it was time. So instead of mechanics' bills I am now paying a car note!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday! I am 34 years young today. Although to be honest, I don't feel a day over 25! Things haven't been so great lately, but I'm going to use today as a starting point for good things to come!

So what did I purchase when I went on my run to the LNS in New Orleans? I bought the Letter M by Nora Corbett and Tigerlily of Nora's Pixie Couture collection. I bought all the materials for Tigerlily and will start that one WHEN I finish Holly! One at a time!!! LOL Or at least that is what I tell myself! I am toying with the idea of doing all the pixies in the collection. Has anyone seen the new ones just released? I just might have to buy those too!

On Sunday, I had lunch with two old friends from high school, Joy and Sarah. Joy lives here in town and I see her often but Sarah lives in Houston and is now a mom of 2! So it is very rare that we get together. It was fantastic to see her. It's always like we've never been apart from each other. We can always just pick right up from where we left off! Her two girls are adorable! Eden is 2 1/2 and talks and talks. She is absoluletly the sweetest thing! Zoe is 7 months old. Didn't get to spend to much time with her as she napped through the whole lunch, which means she was quiet and thus a very good baby!

I also saw the movie Wolverine on Sunday with Joy. All I can say is that Hugh Jackman is one very sexy man!!! If you liked the X-men movies, you will like this one!

Today, my actual birthday, I didn't do very much. To be honest, it was just a normal day off. I did do some shopping and indulged myself at the bookstore and Ulta. I picked up the book that the series True Blood is based on, Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. I've only seen the 1st 3 episodes of the series so I'm hoping to enjoy the book. I had hamburgers with my dad at the house and then some birthday cake. Then I did my dad's laundry! LOL! My mom has been out of town for a while now and well, with all the renovations my dad is doing to the house, things are not being done!

While I was at the house, I just had to take pictures of some flowers from my Dad's garden. I think they are just absolutely beautiful!

On a side note, the verdict has come in about the car. It seems that my brake lights were not going off and thus drained the battery. My dad and a friend of his pried out the brake light switch and are hoping to replace it this week. But while digging around in the car this weekend, my Dad also found that my radiator is cracked! Oh yay! So the final verdict is: time to buy a new car! Soon!

Cross Stitch Update

I do have an update on stitching! I actually was able to get a few hours of stitching in the mornings done while I was waiting for my sister to get ready! While on vacation I worked on Dragon Knot 2! I am loving the way this piece is really starting to come alive! The pictures do it absolutely no justice at all! The lighting here is pretty dark since we are having an overcast day!

I've also started a new project. I know I shouldn't have but it has been calling to me! I started Nora Corbett's Holly. This picture is pretty out of focus but was the best of the many I tried to take! The picture below it is of the final product.

This weekend is my birthday weekend. My birthday is Monday, Memorial Day. So I am treating myself to a trip to a LNS in New Orleans. I am sure I will find something but just what it will be is the best surprise!

I am also going to get caught up on my sleep, get back into a routine and clean my apartment. Now a days, one needs a vacation from the vacation!

Changes

Wow! I feel like so much has been going on lately! But I've come to a point where I feel like I need to take charge of my life because life is running me over!!!! After visiting my family, well, I just kind of felt like somewhere along the way in my life I took a wrong turn! Have you ever been going somewhere using a navigation system and when you take a wrong turn the system tells you "recalculating route"? Well, I feel like my inner navigator is saying over and over again, "recalculating route."

I'm pretty happy with where I am currently working. It's not perfect but I like what I do and well, I'm thankful to have a job at all! Especially since 3 days in a row there were articles in our local newspaper about companies in the area doing major layoffs!

My poor car is still dead. Dad just hasn't had the time to look at it. But I'm fortunate that I've been able to use my mom's car as she is out of town till the end of June! I had already decided that I needed to purchase a new (or previously owned) car this summer so now it's just bumped up a little bit earlier! So now my decision is do I go practical and get a Toyota or do I get something fun like a Mustang? Honestly, it'll come down to what my insurance payment will be! LOL!

Living arrangements. I have been in my current apartment for almost 4 years. I would like to move to a bigger place. One with lots of storage! Well, one decision I've made is to start looking for a home to purchase. I think I am ready to have something of my own. So I've begun to start looking at some properties. I'm just not sure if I want a cute condo/townhouse or an actual home with a yard so Duke can play! Of course, price will be a big consideration and I'm kind of picky about what area I want to live in.

Love life. well, basically, there is none! LOL! Things have gotten to a point where my sailor and I have grown apart. I don't think we can get back to where we were as the distance is just too much for us to overcome and well, I'm not going to move to be with him since he is probably going to be transferred again in a year and with the state of the economy, well, I need to keep my job. I have signed up for Eharmony so maybe I will have some stories to share with ya'll. Hopefully funny stories and not nightmares! Yikes!

I'm happy that it is summer time! I'm looking forward to hopefully some road trips to the beach in Mississippi. Next month I do have a trip to Ft. Walton Beach scheduled for work but luckily I have tons of free time so I will be enjoying the sand and surf!!!! Then in August I like to make it to Gulf Shores. There is also many weekends that will be spent by the pool!

So while I have much sadness, I'm hoping that with a plan laid out, that I will get through it!

Back from Vacation

I am back! It was such a whirlwind! It went by in a flash! I did not want to come home!

I saw so many relatives. It was so nice to reconnect with my aunts, uncles, and cousins! On Saturday was the graduation party. On Sunday was the graduation. Monday we went to the zoo and to a movie. My family crammed so much in that I am exhausted!

Below are two slideshows sharing some pictures from my time in Omaha!

This one is the graduation party and the graduation. I think we all posed with each other so many times, my cheeks were hurting from smiling!

This slideshow is when we went to the Henry Doorly zoo! It was awesome! I have to say, it's even better than our New Orleans Audubon Zoo.

Let the Adventure Begin!

Tomorrow I head off to Omaha to see the family! I'm pretty excited since I haven't been there in about 10 years. My sister arrived today. She texted me earlier telling me that tomorrow is Thursday Taco day at the Forum! I asked what that was but she said she wasn't quite sure but Grandpa was really excited! So that is where I am heading the minute I get off the plane tomorrow, to Thursday Taco! LOL! Can't wait!

But before getting there I've already had adventures. First, I got off work an hour early so that I could finish packing and get Duke to the vet on time. Darn car wouldn't start. Dead as a doornail! Thank goodness Dad was off work and out. He swung by to pick me up and then back to his house to pick up Mom's car since she is already in Omaha. Darn thing is so dead you have to use the key to unlock all the doors cuz the switch on the inside does not work! I have no clue what is wrong. Dad said he'd look at it this weekend! Good thing I will be out of town!

Then I dropped Duke off at the vet. Poor baby. Not only is he being boarded for a week but he is also having his annual check up and a dental cleaning! Yep, he is not going to be a very happy doggy when I get home!

While I did get packed, I am going to have to repack because I threw everything into 2 suitcases with no rhyme or reason so that I could get back to my Dad's house for the evening because he wanted me to bring home dinner! I'm staying here because he is bringing me to the airport for 6:30 am! Yuck! Means we have to leave the house by 5:30! Boy, I hope I wake up! Good thing it's a two hour flight from New Orleans to Chicago. I can get a nap in!

But I am so ready to be on vacation! See the family. Eat some good food! I miss it all!

Another Finish!

Yay! Last night I finished the Little Mermaid picture that I was doing for my sister's roommate. It was a quick stitch. Took just over a week to finish! I did it on 25 count light blue lugana!

Now it's off to take a shower! I spent most of this morning working with Dad on the bathroom/closet. He has totally gutted out the master bathroom and closet down to the studs. I spent the morning buying a wet/dry vac for him and then helping him remove all the many nails that were left behind by the dry wall! Not hard, but very tedious! I did whack my big toe pretty good! Thank goodness I hadn't given myself that pedicure yet!!!

I hope to do some more stitching tonight. Just don't know which one to pick up! I also have some good movies to watch!

Update going into weekend....

Ok! Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday! Yay! Only one more day of work! I am very excited about this weekend's LSU baseball series at home. It's the last one at home for the season.

It's been 5 days and no caffeine!!! Woo hoo!!!! Even though I have a case and a half of Diet Dr. Pepper's sitting in my apartment, I have not touched one!!!!

I have been doing lots of stitching on the Ariel/Little Mermaid picture. No, I haven't taken a picture and I've decided that I am so close to finishing that I'm not going to. I should (fingers crossed) have a finished picture by the end of the weekend!

This weekend will be spent cleaning the apartment and getting ready for my trip next week! I am going home to visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I am very excited. It's been almost 10 years, I think, since I was last there. My mom left today and my sister will arrive next Wednesday and I get there on Thursday.

My dad is supposed to remodel the bathroom while my mom is away. There's rumors that I will be hanging dry wall this weekend. Hmmm, I'll keep ya'll posted on that one! Me and carpentry type of work? That doesn't usually mix very well at all!!! LOL!

Does everyone know that HAED is having a Mother's Day Sale? 25% off! This is one of their newest additions and I think it is absolutely adorable and just a touch of "Louisiana"! I've added it to my wish list!

I hope everyone has a good weekend and I promise some photos of cross stitch projects next time!

Day 3....

I so appreciate everyone's thoughts and comments. It was extremely comforting. A little update since last week. Well, I didn't make it to Bon Jovi. Bummer, I know! I came down with a severe case of food poisoning that I am just now getting over! It started on Thursday and I didn't really eat food until Monday. Good news of that little venture though is I am currently kicking the caffeine habit! I had a 1 to 2 cans a day of Diet Dr. Pepper. It's day 3 and none so far! Whew! I've also lost a few pounds and shrunk my stomach to nothing! Yay!

Things are not perfect with my sailor. We talked. Lots to resolve though. At least on my end. He's a typical man. "It's all good." Doesn't that drive you crazy? Anyway, I want to get back to me! Who I was when I first met him. Did my own thing. Had my own life. Only me to consider when making decisions. He's not here, I shouldn't consider him! Now, it won't be to that extreme, but I still would like to get back to me. He'll be considered in major decisions but....I"m just not sure how to vocalize it! He's always been a good addition to my life. May not have been welcomed at first but I guess I'll keep him.

Family so far is good. No test results back yet though. I will be visiting them all next week so I'll feel better to see for myself how everyone really is!

I have been stitching some on the new WIP, Ariel. I hope to have a picture of it soon. Probably the finished project though! I'm just too lazy to take a picture of it, upload to the computer and then post on here! That's a lot of steps!!!!

I hope everyone is having a good week! Happy Cinco de Mayo!
